This really is a life changing book. Geshe Kelsang manages to explain even the most profound teachings in ways that the western reader can immediately identify with and understand. I have read many Buddhist works and all of them have been helpful in my understanding of these teachings in one way or another. But this book, gently and with pristine clarity, shows the “armchair Buddhist” how to actually connect with Buddha’s teachings in a realistic and deeply personal way. Don’t pass up this book, it delivers big time.

This book has brought me a breathtaking gift to learn HOW to release the ego’s needs, desires, and agenda in order to transform all inner pain, suffering and “self cherishing” into understanding, compassion and cherishing others.
As a result, pain has left my life, completely. This process is so beautifully laid out in this book, which was recommended to me by a dear soul, and I am eternally grateful.

With practice and dedication, you will learn how to rise above the inner conflicts that face you, and how to embrace your natural “Awakened” state. As a result, you will radiate peace and joy, and will be released from the gripping effects of ego, which keep us all trapped in a myriad of negative emotions.

I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone, from any path, if you want to learn how to bring out your true natural awakened state, and feel the inner peace and joy your deserve. This book is a gift to humanity. It Deserves 10 Stars!

Cheri Huber’s writing takes me straight to the center of my heart. This book, laid out to be used daily, shows us how to maintain inner peace, just by doing each day’s simple exercise. The writing, concise and clear, takes us to awareness of how things really work. To experientially know this is life-transforming, and the book brings about this understanding. Then, we are free from remorse ~ we are fearless. Priceless!

Throw away your spiritual literature, because it’s just more food for thought. Thoughts hold you prisoner. These daily quotes simply open your heart to the wisdom of all Buddhas daily.

It helps me to stay present, unclutters my mind and gives me one and only one assignment for the whole day. I only begin to understand how it works on me, but I clearly see – IT WORKS. The first few days there was a resistance in me to how these simple short sayings and assignments could transform my life. I am glad I made through that first period. I have experienced some changes, that I could not describe in other words besides “magic”. I am grateful to receive the gifts that this work brings, I am also willing to give what it takes to stay on the path of transformation. It was hard even to remember what was the assignment of the day at first. I’ve learned to put a snapshot of the page into my phone. What I am noticing now is that assignments I’ve completed some time ago are coming back and helping me through my daily life. No I do not remember all of them, but somehow they pop into my mind, when a situation arises. It feels like wisdom of Cheri and other teachers is catching up with me when I least expect it.

You have to start the work today and keep going with an open mind.

I love Cheri Huber’s books and feel uneasy giving a negative review, but in this case I feel like warning others.

This isn’t a book per se, it’s sort of a page-per-day calendar, with some motivational quote on each page and a task for the day, like “today, be aware of this” or “be aware of that.”

If you simply decide to practice awareness on a daily basis, this book becomes redundant.

    I returned it.
