Internet Selling For Newbies
lion’s den 2

Another shot of the Lion’s Den. Most of my color processing was in Raw Therapee, which I’m getting more comfortable in. I boosted the color via "A & B" channels, independently. Also did some edge sharpening in RAW and denoising.
In comments you’ll see my attempt at a "painterly effect." I’m not surehow others have done this… I wanted some sort of sketched or paint brushed filter effect under a layer set to "color". The color layer was, the same used as the one posted.
For the B&W sketched layer, I tried to use the G’MIC artistic>Pencil sketch… It’s got two settings: pencil type (size, I think) and amplitude (not sure…). I had to run it a few times because the end result had such fine detail, at normal viewing size it looked like a regular B&W shot. I ran it two or three times with increased amplitude, and still didn’t get the dramatic results that the preview suggested. I tried also to run through the anistropy filter in an attempt to increase the "pencil stroke" appearance. It’s alright, but the effect isn’t as dramatic as I would’ve liked.
For an example of what I had in mind, but not exactly what I was going for, check out a couple of examples from skyshaper
damn it… I think I’m at the point I finally need to get a new PC. I’ve been working on laptop only for about a year now and the color is giving me real problems. This is a lot warmer seen on my work PC (shhhh…) than it is on my laptop at home. View On Black
